Vacant Residential Property Registration

Single family homes and other residential buildings that remain vacant for 60-consecutive days are subject to the registration ordinance. After notification by the City, the responsible party shall register the property within 10-calendar days. List the contact information of three individuals that will be responsible to respond to health and public safety code violations or to abate a property maintenance nuisance within one hour of contact by the City.

Please complete the information below to submit your application to the Planning and Community Preservation Department, Code Enforcement Division.

Property Information

Property owner information is required to establish accountability and ensure compliance with local maintenance and safety regulations. By identifying the owner, the city or code enforcement authorities know who is legally responsible for maintaining the property, submitting the required maintenance plan, and addressing any violations or required improvements as a secondary point-of-contact.

Other Responsible Individual

Real property subject to registration must designate a responsible party—such as a family member or trusted individual—who will ensure compliance with maintenance and security requirements.

Property Manager

Property manager information is required when a property owner delegates the day-to-day care or oversight of a property. This ensures there is a designated person who can be contacted for maintenance issues, inspections, or emergency situations. The property manager acts as the on-site representative responsible for implementing the maintenance plan, addressing code compliance, and coordinating with city departments.
